Created by  Returned Peace Corps Volunteers Chris De Bruyn and Kevin Johnstone as they worked in Iraq and bolstered by their Iraqi students, Development Now summarizes developmental projects orchestrated by various organizations.  Project stakeholders and beneficiaries are encouraged to review the summaries, comment and rate the projects based on their own experiences. In the long-term, we hope to:

  • Improve communication between existing organizations
  • Educate volunteer Iraqi students about sustainable development
  • Serve as a hub of area organizations and projects
  • Support beneficiaries by enabling them to comment about their experiences
  • Provide local developmental organizations real-time feedback from beneficiaries
  • Increase transparency in the field of development throughout the region
  • Raise awareness about successful projects

Development Now is currently concentrating on NGO projects in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq with plans to expand in the near future.
